Walnut Serving Board – by CraftDose

When it comes to being a party host, the serving platter is an essential part. It is a great tool for appetizers and gathering guests around the table, as well as showcasing your delicacies.

Serving boards and trays are fun and useful items that can show your design sense and style. We love using natural materials that differentiate from your countertop, tables or other serving areas for a nice contrasting look. This way, it can be stored in the open and act as a décor piece when not in use!

This particular serving board by CraftDose is made out of Walnut wood. Walnut is a dark, hard and dense grained wood, prized by wood workers and furniture makers. It polishes to a very smooth finish and develops a nice patina over time and use.

Since it is made from natural wood, it is important to care for it gently. Light cleaning with mild soap and water should suffice, and avoid prolonged exposure to water and other liquids. Walnut is more scratch resistant than other wood types, however you can expect the development of some scratches over time, especially if you decide to cut frequently on the surface.

This beautiful piece is lightweight, measuring approximately 7-1/2” x 24” x ¾” thick, with smooth surfaces and edges. The handle and padded footings help slightly raise the board from the countertop surface and allows for easy manipulation.

CraftDose is a Montreal-based Canadian company that specializes in custom-engraved products, so we opted to engrave a saying into the surface: “The best things in life are meant to be shared”.

The end result is simply stunning, with a high-definition engraving and gorgeous product. It is now a staple serving-ware item in our kitchen and has a permanent home on our island countertop. It can be used as a charcuterie board, snack serving platter, or simple centerpiece, the possibilities are endless.
